Hydrangea ‘Ruby Slippers’

Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Ruby Slippers’

LANDSCAPE USE
A lovely plant with large heads of flowers that it displays upright over the shrubs surface, like a candelabra. Blooms quickly age from white to watermelon pink, and are very long lasting: even contributing to the winter show. The large leaves also flush in rust and mahogany for fall. These are a wonderful choice for woodland gardens, once established they take dry shade exceptionally well.

PRUNING
Very little necessary, for size and shape control any pruning should be done immediately after the spring bloom flush to avoid removal of the next years’ budding sites. Plants can also be cut to ground level to produce enormous lush leaves, but no flower production.
